MARIETTA— Anna Ruth “Billie” Abicht, 78, of Washington Street died at 1:15 p.m. Friday (March 31, 1995) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 8, 1916, in Marietta to Thomas Long and Leota May Echols Clark. She was a graduate of Marietta High School and had been employed in the Washington County Auditor’s office as a deputy auditor. She had also been employed by the Soil Conservation Service. She was a Methodist and her hobby was making quilts.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Chutes and his wife, Millie, of Marietta and David Chutes of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Barbara Fleming and Sally Monnett and her husband, Kenneth, all of Columbus; a number of grandchildren; two great grandchildren: one sister, Virginia “Sis” Seely of Wheeling, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Clark and Richard Clark; and three sisters, Helen “Mamie” Wittekind, Beatrice “Bea” Clark and Margaret Longworth.

Services are 1 p.m. Monday at McClure-Schafer Funeral Home. Burial is in Valley Cemetery.
