MANOAH B. SCHOOLER

Manoah was a retired merchant. He was widowed, his death certificate indicated he was residing in Joplin, MO. and died at his home at 26th & Pearl Ave. at 10:10 a.m. of a stomach ulcer.
He was buried in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Hurlbut Undertaking Company on January 3, 1920.

Manoah Barber Schooler, Sr.'s parents were Charles Harrison Schooler and Mahitable (or Mehitable) Barber Schooler. His full siblings were Charles Taylor Schooler, Benjamin Harrison Schooler, Ella E. Schooler, and John Elvis Schooler.

His father was married to Hannah Paige prior to being married to Mahitable. They had at least two children: Margaret A. Schooler (Robertson) and Clarissa Schooler.

Manoah married Delilah E. Ayers on December 30, 1865, in Ringgold County, Iowa. They had four children: Arthur Schooler, Blanche Schooler (Adams), Clara Schooler (McGill), and Floyd Schooler. Delilah died sometime in 1873 or after.

Manoah married Delilah's sister, Sarah I. Ayers Tansey on February 25, 1875, in Caledonia, Ringgold County, Iowa. Sarah had previously been married to Alexander W. Tansey, who apparently also died prior to 1875. Manoah and Sarah had eight children: Carrol "Carl" Schooler, Ledraw "Dick" Schooler, Sarah "Sadie" Schooler (McGill), Bessie May Schooler, Manoah Barber Schooler, Jr., Leroy Elvis Schooler, and Allen Robinson Schooler. Sarah died in 1904.

Manoah died January 1, 1920 in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri.
