DAY, JOHN EDWARD - age 68, of Tallassee, Tenn., died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was medically retired from the Air National Guard and was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Nicholas Teffeteller ; brothers, Leonard Day, Leslie Day, and Donald Carl Day; sisters, Mary VanSlyke and Mildred. Survivors include wife, Dorothy Winkler Day; children and spouses, Deborah and Frank LaRue of Maryville, Douglas and Daphnie Day of Chicago, Donald and Tammy Day of Maryville; grandchildren and spouses, Melissa and Stephen Teffeteller , and Jason LaRue, all of Maryville, Dawn Sellers and Danielle Sellers, both of Kennesaw, Ga., Jerred LaRue, Bryant Day, and Browder Day, all of Maryville, and Daniel Day of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Hannah Teffeteller and Bryson Teffeteller , both of Maryville; brothers and spouses, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Day and Mr. and Mrs. James H. Day, all of Maryville; sisters, Alma Hisler of Knoxville, and Joanne Boger of Morristown. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held Thursday at Grandview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Thompson Cancer Survival Center Foundation, 1915 White Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37916.
