M. J. Leatherwood, 81, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Chapel, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. Interment: Erwin Cemetery. M.J. Leatherwood,

He was an honest hard working individual born nine of ten children to Maynard Leatherwood and Alice Harris Leatherwood August 17, 1929 on a farm near Poolville. He lived 81 years and five months and was a farmer and dairyman all of his life. "J" was very considerate of the feelings and needs of others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Leatherwood in 1979; Parents, Maynard and Alice Leatherwood and special friend Evelyn Pidgeon; he was the last of his siblings to survive, they were William "Bill" Leatherwood, C.T. "Doc" Leatherwood, Donald "Skinny" Leatherwood, Lena Sisk, Rena Lynch, Zack Leatherwood, Hubert Leatherwood, M. H. "Harry" Leatherwood, and John Leatherwood.

"J" is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends and neighbors who will surely miss him.
