Services to celebrate Virginia's life will begin with a time of visitation on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Following the visitation, Virginia will be laid to rest next to her husband Charles in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL with a committal service at 1:30 p.m., Friday afternoon. Memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
Virginia was born November 14, 1925 in East Prairie, MO, the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude McKee. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sporting events, family and friends. Virginia worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for many years and went on to work as the Office Manager for Buckley Brothers Painting until her retirement.
Virginia was a graduate of Argenta High School and had married Charles J. Buckley in 1943. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter: Patty Fombelle and her husband David of Cobden, IL; son: Mike Buckley of Mt. Zion, IL; sister: Elaine Mashburn of Maroa, IL; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister: Charlotte Franklin; granddaughter: Kimberly; grandson: Aaron; and daughter-in-law: Jill.
The family is most grateful for the care given to Virginia by the Union County Nursing Home and staff.
