Dolores Madelyn Owen Munjar was born Feb. 6, 1930 in Oregon City, OR to parents, George & Lela (Miller) Carrick. She died on Sunday July 8, 2012 at her home in Hermiston at the age of 82. They moved to Yreka, CA. When she was six months old.

They moved to Oregon when she was 11 and settled in Amity a year later where she stayed until she graduated from high school. She then moved to San Diego for two years to be near her brothers, who were in the Navy. Her parents purchased the "Snack Shack" in Fossil and she came to help out. She met her husband, Lloy Munjar in Fossil. They were married August 28, 1952 in Prineville. Shortly after Mr. Munjar took a job with the State Highway Dept. and the young couple settled in Spray. Her daughter Linda was born in 1953 and her son Bob, in 1956. She lost her son in 1960 to cancer. She was a homemaker through her children young lives. She taught 4-H sewing and was known to be a fine seamstress. She was also known for her singing. She sang at many weddings and funerals in Spray at this time.

In 1966 they moved to Post, Oregon. She went to work at Coin Mill in Prineville. They moved to Mitchell in 1968 and she worked for Ruth Schnee at the Sidewalk Café. In 1973 they returned to Spray. She had started working for the US Census Bureau and continued that until the early 80"s. She loved taking her grandsons camping at Bull Prairie.

In 1983 she got divorced and moved to Hermiston to be near her daughter. She went to work at Good Shepherd Hospital, first in housekeeping and then, through a training program, began working in the front office in admitting and running the switchboard. She moved with the hospital to the new Good Shepherd Medical Center, running the switchboard, until retiring in 1995. She loved her job and helping people. She was involved in "Parents without Partners" and loved going to their outings and dances. She also belonged to the Eagles Lodge and Sweet Adelines.

In 1991, she and Don Troxell made their home in Irrigon. They stayed in Irrigon for 12 years and then moved back to Hermiston. They moved to Sun Terrace four years ago.

She will be deeply missed by her Partner, Don Troxell and dog "Molly" of the home, Her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dick Cole of Irrigon, her grandsons and families, Richard and Addie with great grandsons Samuel and Matthew, and Jeff and Melissa with great grandsons, James and 8 day old Kellen all of Irrigon. She is also survived by sisters Vernice Walther of Redmond, Betty Frost in California and Carrol Perez of Salem and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert, her former husband Lloy, her brothers Alvin Prost and Ronald Carrick and her sister Ruby Pugh.

Funeral Service will be held at Burns Mortuary Chapel on Thursday July 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM. A Graveside Service will be held at Haystack Cemetery near Spray, Oregon at 2:00 PM
