SPRINGFIELD - Anne M. Alexander, 96, of Springfield, died at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at St. John's Hospice.
Anne was born January 19, 1916 in Toluca, IL, the daughter of Alex and Nancy Contasti Alexander.
Anne worked for the State of Illinois for 59 and a half years, retiring in 2005 at the age of 89. She was a member of the Springfield Art Association, Illinois State Museum Society and a former St. John's Samaritan. Anne was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Nicholas, Michael, James and William Alexander; and three sisters, Mary Cervellone, Lillian Boelling and Tessie Owdom.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews; great grand-nieces and nephews; and one great, great, grand-niece.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield, with Rev. Tom Donovan celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
