US Congresswoman. She graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota n 1934, and went on to teach high school in North Dakota and Minnesota. She served in the Minnesota State Legislature from 1951 to 1954 before being elected as a Democrat to represent Minnesota's 9th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. She served from 1954 to 1959, and was an unsuccessful candidate for re-election in 1958.
