Orvie F. Aken, a former resident of Couderay, WI, passed away at Detroit Lakes, MN, on Feb. 15, following a lingering illness.

He was born in Lehigh, Iowa, on Aug. 2, 1888. He received his education in the schools there and in 1907, he was united in marriage to Lottie Brewer at Richland Center, WI. The couple came to Couderay in 1918 where they owned and operated their farm for many years. Mr. Aken served as health officer for the Town of Couderay. In 1955, the couple moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, to make their home.

Survivors are his wife, Lottie; 4 sons, Gerald of Ponsford (?), MN, Carroll of Genoa, IL, Bernard of Munisine, MI, and Robert of Couderay, WI.

The body lay in state at the Anderson Funeral Chapel until removed to the Presbyterian Church where funeral services were conducted with the Rev. Harold C. Stark officiating. The interment took place in the Couderay Cemetery.
