KITTERY, Maine; Karen R. Dennett, 66, died March 9, 2009, at New England Sinai Hospital after a prolonged illness.

She was born Nov. 13, 1942, in York. She was the daughter of Henry I. and Madeleine (Perkins) Morse.

She graduated from Eliot High School in 1961 and Exeter School of Nursing in 1965. She worked as a nurse at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

She married the love of her life, J. Peter Dennett, on Oct. 18, 1969, and spent 30 working by his side at the William E. Dennett Agency. The passion of her life was her family and her animals.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Dennett, and her children, Mary Dennett of Eliot and Rebecca Bergeron and her husband, Daniel, of Barrington, N.H.; granddaughters, Caitlin and Kara; a sister, Barbara Sullivan of Milton, N.H.; a brother, Roger Morse of Waterboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

An 11 a.m. graveside service will be held Saturday, May 2, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, State Road, Eliot. Memorial donations may be made to the William Fogg Library Children's Services Old Road Eliot, ME 03903 or the Pulmonary Hypertension Association at www.phaassociation.org.
