BENOIT, Mary Theresa - 83, Arichat, passed away peacefully in Strait Richmond Hospital on May 23, 2012, after a brief illness. Born in Cape Auguet, she was a daughter of the late Albennie and Martha (Gaudet) Boudreau. Theresa was predeceased by sons, Bennie and Francis James (in infancy); sisters, Mary, Rose and Alice; brothers, Alias, Arthur, Leo, Francis, John, Clarence and Sylvester. She will be sadly missed by James, her loving husband of 64 years; sons, Vincent (Delia), Arichat; Leonard, Ontario; Henry, Arichat; Douglas, Halifax; Michael (Anita), Stellarton; daughters, Jeannette (Gordie) Ellis, West Arichat, and Delores (Stewart) Benoit, Lexington. She enjoyed her 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place from 2-9 p.m. today, May 25th in I.M.L. Funeral Home, Petit de Grat. Funeral service held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Arichat with Rev. MacDougall officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. MacNeil, Dr. Sturmy, Dr. El-Halees and Dr. Collins. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital, Palliative Care Unit or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. To the Benoit Family: This week, you have experienced the loss of a beautiful and kind person. I will remember her for her smile, she was most caring, kind and generous. Through life, she has had some heartaches, particularly when her son was killed in the mine. She was a woman of great faith and although she may have questioned "Why?", she accepted God's will........Now the time has come for her reward. God has received her in his care and there will be no more turmoil in her life. She will still remain very close to her family from heaven. A mother's love never goes away! Years ago Theresa and the Benoit clan was a fixture in Cape Auguet for us next door on the weekends and in the summer, and one that I will always have fond memories of growing up.
