James Y. Biggar, 82, North Augusta, S.C., formerly of Clarksville, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at University Hospital, Augusta, Ga.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, North Augusta, with the Rev. Jerry T. Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens, North Augusta.
Visitation will be today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born July 12, 1918, in Clarksville, son of William Bates and Cora L. Harned Biggar.
Mr. Biggar was retired from Savannah River Plant and a World War II veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, North Augusta, the Campbell Sunday School Class and the Sheffield Club and a former member of the American Legion and the Aiken County Council on Aging.
Survivors include his wife, Malinda Thompson Biggar; a son, Philip Biggar, Ladson, S.C., and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thurmond Gillis, A.C. Wilcenski, Bin Wilcenski, Ted Biggar, Tommy Biggar and Jim Fowke.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Campbell Sunday School Class.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Augusta Building Fund, 602 Georgia Ave., North Augusta, S.C. 29841.
