COLCHESTER - Jeannette R. Cruz, 81, of Colchester, died peacefully in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington on Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

COLCHESTER - Jeannette Ruth (Pepin) Cruz , 81, of Colchester, died peacefully on July 4, 2012, surrounded by her family, from complications of a stroke.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1930, in Barre, the daughter of Cyrias and Doris (Carbonneau) Pepin.

Jeannette married Francisco "Nino" Cruz on Feb. 16, 1950, in Barre. She was employed at Rock of Age's in Barre, but mostly she was a homemaker, caring for her family. She was a member of the Elks Lodge, Ladies of St. Mark's, and Meals On Wheels. Jeannette was a thoughtful, giving person who loved the theatre, watching movies, cooking, traveling, playing cards, sewing, crafts, social gatherings, and her family.

Jeannette is survived by her husband of 62 years, Francisco "Nino" Cruz; daughters, Debra Cruz and Renee Cruz; sons, Lawrence Cruz and Joey Cruz; seven grand- children, Casey, Cokey, Keith, Tony, Marielle, Michael and Travis; and three great-grandchildren.

Jeannette had nine brothers and sisters, Lorraine, Edith, Raymond, Rita, Roland, Pierre, Bonnie, and was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby and Florence.

Arrangements are with LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St., Winooski.
