Toccoa, GA - MRS. ELLA PRESSLEY DICKSON, 82, well known Franklin County matron, of the red Hill community, died early Saturday morning in a local hospital following a period of declining health and two days critical illness.
A daughter of the late Sanford and Minnie Baugh Pressley, she was born May 16, 1884, in Jackson County, but had lived most of her life in Franklin County. She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.
Her husband, John Robert Dickson, died March 20, 1958.
Survivors: 4 daughters, Mrs. Edna Hill and Mrs. Rothell Price of Toccoa, Mrs. Herschel Anderson of Eastanollee, and Mrs. Frank Oller of Sylvus, IL; 3 sons, Norman Dickson of Toccoa, George Dickson of Atlanta, and H. A. Dickson of Tulsa, OK; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at New Hope Bapt. Church with Rev. Robert Rudeseal, Rev. Ralph Bagwell and Rev. Lester Stamey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will be at the residence after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Grandsons will be pallbearers: David Dickson, Fred Dickson, Lloyd Hill, Henry Hill, Robert Price and Harold Price.
