Germaine Ahrens

A Town of Fredonia resident, Germaine Ahrens, 74, died Nov. 11, at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan, where she had been a patient for three weeks. Mrs. Ahrens made her home at N6120 Highway I.

She was a Milwaukee native, born Feb. 6, 1920, to Alvin and Margaret Gelhardt Clemens.

On Nov. 11, 1939, she and William Ahrens of Whitefish Bay were married. He died in 1989.

Mrs. Ahrens was an active member of St. Mary’s Church, Little Kohler. She was a member and past president of Christian Mothers and former secretary of St. Mary’s Cemetery Association.

Funeral services were held at the church Sunday, Nov. 13, with Father Neil Zinthefer officiating.

Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Ahrens is survived by two daughters, Sharon Maas, Sheboygan Falls, and Nancy Ahrens, at home.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a brother Joseph Clemens, Belgium, and a sister, Margaret Borchard, Camarilla, Calif.

Her husband, a son, daughter, granddaughter and sister preceded her in death.
