Place of Death: Mary E. Anderson 95, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 Saturday, March 3, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating.

Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann (Gene) Dischler, and Margaret (Melvin) Berner, all of Rockwell City; seven grandchildren, Julie and Gary Harrison, Randy and Michelle Dischler, Bart and Holly Dischler, Debbie and Chris Judas, David Berner, Marsha Berner, and Mike and Kandi Berner; nine great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kyle Schmaltz, Michael, Matthew, and Maria Dischler, Nathan and Nicholas Dischler, Shannon and Brandon Judas, and Tucker Berner; and one great-great-grandson, Bennett Schmaltz; and other relatives and special friends at Sunnyview, and Sunny Knoll.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; parents, Ralph and May Jones Carver; brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and Gen Carver, and Howard and Marie Carver.

Mary Emmaline Carver Anderson was born November 8, 1916 near Coon Rapids, Iowa. Mary moved with her family to Rockwell City in 1930. She graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1933. On April 27, 1938 she was united in marriage to Alvin Edward Anderson at the Skaraborg Lutheran Church in Piper, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Ruth Ann and Margaret. The couple spent their life farming in the Rockwell City and Lohrville area. They also enjoyed traveling to Arizona for many years. They retired in 1984, and moved into Rockwell City, and then Sunnyview Independent Living. Alvin passed away in 1994. Mary became a resident of Sunny Knoll Care Centre in September of 2011. Mary was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and was well known for her baking and crocheting. Mary's first love was always her family.
