Beverly Mae Brady, 82, of Wakonda, SD passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Beverly Letcher was born on May 1, 1930 in Mitchell, SD to Charles and Isadore (Hazen) Letcher. She grew up in the Alexandria area and graduated from Alexandria High School. She attended the Mitchel Business School in Mitchel and worked as a bookkeeper for Mitchell Motors from 1950 until 1954.
Beverly was united in marriage on February 14, 1954 to Cecil Wayne Brady Jr. Beverly and Cecil owned and operated the Eastside Service "Brady's Station" in Wakonda for many years. Beverly pumped gas, fixed tires and did all the duties of owning and running a gas station finally retiring in 1987.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and puzzles. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and bible study in Wakonda, the Wakonda Senior Citizens and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons; Scott (Benita "Bunny") of Montrose, SD, Dan (Kim) of Sioux Falls and Kevin (Laura) of Vermillion, SD. Eight grandchildren; Troy, Derek, Molly, Craig, David, Austin, Marissa and Carson, six great grandchildren and special friends Lois Larson and Alberta Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil a sister Marguerite and a brother Justin.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 29 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Wakonda with burial to follow in the Union Cemetery rural Wakonda. Visitation will be Thursday, June 28 from 5 – 7 PM at the Hansen Funeral Home in Irene, SD. Beverly's family would like to thank the staff of the Avera Heart Hospital for their exceptional care and friendship.
