Died in childbirth. Sarah Lincoln Grigsby, sister of the 16th President, was buried with her infant in her arms in the Little Pigeon Baptist Church cemetery, which is located today in Lincoln State Park. Her husband, Aaron is buried beside her.
There are a few purported photographs of Sarah Lincoln Grigsby added to her memorial. It is my opinion that these photos are not of Sarah since photography was not invented until 1826 and it is unlikely that someone of Sarah's humble stature would have posed for one. An internet search states the first photograph in the United States was taken in 1839.
