Mr. Edwin Paul Abernathy, age 68 of Huntersville, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.
His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at New Vision Ministries. Burial will follow in the New Vision Cemetery.
Mr. Abernathy was born June 14, 1943 in Murphy, NC to the late Perry and Zora Bruce Abernathy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ada Bell Garrett Abernathy.
He is survived by five daughters, Ann A. Edwards of Lincolnton, Wanda A. Justus of Mooresville, Martha A. Martin of Kannapolis, Zora A. Martinichio of Lincolnton, and Joyce A. Ward of Charlotte; four brothers, Luther Abernathy of Charlotte, Henry Abernathy, David Abernathy, and Bruce Abernathy, all of Murphy; three sisters, Libby Mashburn of Murphy, Effie Davis of Ohio, and Irene Abernathy of Murphy; twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
