Edith was a lifelong resident of Jersey City growing up in the Heights. She was born to Carl (1896-1967)and Alice Nordquist (1906-1994)and had a sister Alice (1927-1995).
After she married Thomas Burke she moved down to the Marion Section of Jersey City where she raised her family with her firefighter husband. They lived in the home of Tommy's parents at the corner of Wright Avenue and Broadway. She had four children with Tommy: Thomas, Jr., Alice, Heather, and Edith.
Edie was a very nice, friendly, and warm person. She died at an early age from complications of heart disease, and was laid to rest beside her husband and eldest son Tommy, Jr.
