C.H. Clark Taken by Death Monday
Charles H. Clark, 81, was taken by death Monday, Oct. 27, at 3:10 p.m. at the Johnstone Memorial hospital. He had only been ill 10 days; death was attributed to carcinoma. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m., at the Methodist church, Rev. Ray McClure officiating.

Pallbearers will be his sons, Jess, Clifford, Harry and Warren. Interment will be made in the Beach cemetery, beside his wife who preceded him in death in 1943.

Survivors include seven children, 4 boys and 3 girls, Mrs. Frank Spalding, (Lola), Winona, Minn., Mrs. Guy Whittaker, (Florence), who passed away in 1918, and Beulah who died at 14 years of age, Jesse Clark, Portland, Ore., C.C. Clark, Beach, Harry Clark, Billings, Mont., and Warren Clark, Vancouver, Wn, as well as two brothers, Dan Clark, Seattle, Wn., and Irvin Clark of Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Nesmith, New York state, and Mrs. Dean Sinclair, Baker, Mont.

Charles Henry Clark was born in Ridgway, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clark, and was married at Winona, Minn., to Etta Bell Gage, Jan. 1, 1887, and had made his home in Golden Valley County since 1909. He had a blacksmith shop here for 50 years. Mr. Clark was affectionately called "Grandpa" by everyone in this community and was noted for his kindliness. He was an active member of the local Methodist church.

The passing of Mr. Clark takes from us one of the early pioneers who ranks are slowly decreasing year by year.
