Edward Maassen, was the child of William H. and Emma C.(Andresen) Maassen.

Edward's brothers were Frank and Robert Maassen. Edward took his own life on May 6, 1932, at the age of 19. Edward wanted to go to collage to be an artist, but his father was not so keen on the idea.

Edward had two sister's Anna S. Burmeister, and Esther I. Heft.

In reading Eddie's aunt Anna Andersen journals, Eddie was very out going and friendly. Almost every day Eddie would go to his grandpa Andersen's house after school let out, and spent time with his family. He was not one who secluded himself from the world or was bitter, and was active in the Avoca Lutheran church until his sudden death Friday May 6, 1932. Eddie is with the Lord Jesus now, and may he be blessed in the Lords arms.
