C, 126th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company May 20, 1863. He also enlisted in Chambersburg September 1, 1864, and mustered into federal service there September 7 as a private with Co. G, 17th Pennsylvania Cavalry (162nd Pa). He transferred to Co. K, date unknown, and honorably discharged per general order June 16, 1865, at Cloud's Mills, Virginia.
He married Mary E. lnu. in 1895 and reportedly died from "arteriosclerosis."
