Rev Ellis Thomas, superintendent of the Southwest Texas Methodist Conference, and Rev Lawrence Greenhaw, pastor of the Center Point Methodist Church, officiated at the rites held Wednesday afternoon in the church for Nancy Witt Thomas, 83, who died earlier this week in a Comfort hospital. Interment was in the Center Point Cemetery.
A native of Center Point, she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W.H. Witt, pioneer residents of this area. She was married to the late George E Thomas, who served as the postmaster in Center Point until his death in 1935.
She was a devout member of the Methodist faith and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. She lived in Center Point until her health begun to fail, when she moved to Hilltop Village. She later entered the hospital in Comfort.
She is survived by 10 children, Mrs Florence Toscano of Center Point, Mesdames Ray Kilborn, J.H. Lieck, Otto Remling and Bill Cover, and Gerald and George Thomas, all of San Antonio; Howard Thomas of Van Nuys, California; and Leslie and William Thomas of San Jose, California.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
