Alexander Rae Skinner was born March 28, 1854 in New York City, the son of Alexander Ray Skinner and Ann Eliza Purdy. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and had been employed at the Middletown State Armory for more than twenty-five years. He was survived by two sisters: Miss Mary L. Skinner, of Binghamton, and Mrs. Marion Young, of Middletown.
