Death of Herbert Brown
It was with profound sorrow that the news was received of the death on Monday morning of Herbert Brown of Hudson, from appendicitis. A young man of iron constitution, a giant for work, tireless, athletic, It seemed that nothing could overcome his vitality and energy. But a few days before his death he was at work at the plow and probably after his life was doomed and his recovery hopeless, while he must have been in great pain, he was doing his regular labors about the farm. He was a young man only 28 years of age, and but little more than a year ago was married to a daughter of Mr. Zenas W. Douglas of that town, and entered upon a happy married life. It is indeed a sad and sudden end to a promising life, and to this young wife and aged mother, the hearts of all will turn with a fullness of sympathy. The funeral occurred on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. George E. Soper officiating, and the interment was in the Union Lake cemetery. A post mortem conducted by Dr. McEwan disclosed a correct diagnosis as appendicitis, the appendage being perforated causing septic peritonitis.
