Susan Slate Adams was married to Joseph Adams, Jr. as stated on her gravestone. Susan and Joseph had 3 children Charlotte (Lottie), George, and David. David quarried her grave stone from her home of Grindstone Island and brought it to Brownville aboard a boat that he had to row. He then loaded it on a borrowed dray and carried it the rest of the way. He also engraved it.
