Esther married John Davis Hayes about 1889 in Tennessee, USA.

Esther and John had 6 children.

NOTE: ESTHER A. MCINTURFF HAYES IS BURIED IN AN UNMARKED GRAVE. HER CHILDREN DID NOT HAVE THE FUNDS FOR A MARKER DUE TO THE GREAT DEPRESSION. MY FAMILY INTENDS TO EVENTUALLY HAVE JOHN AND ESTHER MOVED TO A CEMETERY CLOSER TO US, AND AT THAT TIME A MARKER WILL BE PLACED ON ESTHER'S GRAVE.

Esther and her husband John are listed in Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) paperwork which I have that states that they were originally buried in the MacFarlane Cemetery (this cemetery has also been known by other names such as Grantham Cemetery) and reinterred in the Vaught Cemetery. I have a plat map which shows the location of John D. and Esther (McInturff) Hayes. Esther is buried at Vaught Cemetery in Grave M-45. When John and Esther were first reinterred in the Vaught Cemetery my family was given a key to Vaught Cemetery because at that time the gate to the cemetery was kept locked. My family and I have decorated John's marked grave and Esther's unmarked grave many times both in the MacFarlane Cemetery and the Vaught Cemetery.
