Jerusha Brown Beem was born in New Albany, Ohio, September 18, 1853. In 1862, at the age of nine years she moved with her parents to Chelsea, Iowa.

In 1876 she was united in marriage to George Baer. To this union three children were born, Margaret, the first child dying in infancy.

They lived in Tama and Marshal counties until 1893 when they moved onto a farm one mile south of Winnetoon, Nebraska. Since then they lived in this vicinity until the death of Mr. Baer in 1921. That fall Mrs. Baer moved to Los Angeles, California, where she and her daughter, Anna, lived together until her death, Sept. 8, 1931. Mrs. Baer was 77 years, 11 months and 21 days old.

Besides the son, G.M.
