Robert did have children from a previous marriage, (Wanda Kate Butler).

Robert L. Butler, 69, of Murphysboro, died Thursday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Paris, March 1, 1897, the son of Robert and Rebecca Caldwell Butler. He married Bertha Lindsey, Feb. 1, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Mr. Butler was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Nazarene Church.

He leaves his wife; a son, Ronnie of Murphysboro; daughters, Mrs. Wanda Fulgham of Herrin, Mrs. Dwight Greear [sic] and Mrs. Gerald Edgar, both of East Alton; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Ford of Quincy; five grandchildren and our great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Crawshaw Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Bob Norton officiating. Burial will be in Goodbread Cemetery, Grand Tower.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Saturday.
