Thomas had seven older siblings: Elliot Edward Anderson (1881-1956). Georgia Anderson (1883-1973), Earris Alexander Anderson (1884-1961), Emmitt Anderson (1886-1977), Fred Doug Anderson (1888- ), Willie D. Anderson Sr. (1890-1971), and Lillie D. Anderson (1890-1981).

The World War I Draft Registration Cards show that Thomas D. Anderson registered for the draft on June 6, 1917 in Gregg County, Texas. He gave his name as Thomas D. Anderson; his age as 21; his birth date as October 11, 1895; his birthplace as Gladewater, Texas; his occupation as farming; and his marital status as married with one child.

The 1940 Federal Census for Denison, Texas (Grayson County) shows May A. Anderson, age 41, born in Texas; and her husband, Tom D. Anderson, age 45, born in Texas. Living with them were three children: Clara Mae Anderson, age 20; Alfred Anderson, age 18; and Walter Lee Anderson, age 10; all born in Texas.

May Anna died July 23, 1963 in Denison, Texas (Grayson County) and was buried there in the Oakwood Cemetery. Tom died September 19, 1966 in Denison and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery beside his wife.
