Anund O. Aamodt. 78, pioneer McKenzie County resident and lately of 415 12th Avenue West, died Sunday in a local hospital. His funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church.
Lay Pastor Martin Heide will officiate and interment will be in Hillside Memory Gardens. Anund O.
Aamodt was born December 24, 1892, in Lake Mills, Iowa, to Ole and Ingeborg Aamodt. He was raised there and began farming in McKenzie County in 1916. September 18, 1917, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was discharged January 17, 1919 after serving overseas. He returned to McKinzie County and resumed farming. October 24, 1936, he married Anna Louise Rod in Alexander. They lived on his farm until moving to Williston in 1966. Mr. Aamodt was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and was on the Organizational Board of the Bethel Lutheran Home. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Darold (Ida) Hitland, Alexander and Mrs Gordon (Judy) Olson, Ames, Iowa; one son, Glenn, Alexander; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Dedrick (Malla) Iverson, Williston, and two brothers, Knut, Williston, and Oscar, Northwood, Iowa. Friends may call at the Everson Funeral Home all day today.
