Professional Basketball Player. Bobb distinguished himself on the court while attending West Philadelphia High School, as he led his team to the city championship during his senior year. He enrolled at Temple University and proceeded to apply an indelible impression on their basketball program when World War II intervened. He went onto serve with the US Army Air Corps and was stationed in the South Pacific assigned as a bombardier aboard a B-25. Upon his return home, he resumed his athletics and following the conclusion of his collegiate career in 1949, he held several school records as an Owl (at the guard position). Selected by his hometown team the Philadelphia Warriors during the 1949 BAA Draft, Bobb launched his professional career as the National Basketball Association was evolving into a dominant league. In his rookie year (1949-1950), he appeared in 57 games and scored 242 points while experiencing the first of three postseason berths. During the 1952-1953 season, he yielded a career-high 343 points with 192 assists. In 227 regular season NBA games, he compiled 1,052 points with 488 assists. After retiring from basketball, he founded his own insurance firm. He was inducted into the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame in 1981.
