Son of Jackson Nicholas Powell and Polly Holt. William was living with Jackson and Louisa on the 1900 census, as was Catherine A Collins and Charlotte Collins (Lemuel's wife and daughter). William married Polly McClister on Oct 20, 1852 and Mary Jane Bryant on Oct 15, 1856. Mary Jane was the daughter of Charles and (Womack) Bryant. There was a Mary Jane Powell that married Warner Shepperd on Dec 20, 1869 in Adair County. I don't know if it was this one or not. It's possible since the 1900 census lists William as single instead of widowed. There may be more children.

She was the daughter of Matilda Elzora Curry and Joel Preston Sinclair, their burial place probably in Adair but I don't know where.
