August Schultz emigrated on ship "Australia", arriving in New York City from Hamburg on 27 June 1881 with wife and children. Data from "Germans in America", volume 39. August and wife farmed in Crystal Lake township Marquette County until about 1901, when they moved to Coloma, Waushara County, to live with daughter and son-in-law, Alvina and John Brosinska. Later Caroline moved with them to Wautoma. Family data from obituary.

Tombstone spells last name as "Shultz", but 1900 US Federal Census has spelling as Schultz.
