Patricia Ann (Pat) Vibbert Adams, age 67, a lifetime Rupert resident, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Rupert, Idaho, on Feb. 14, 1945, to Raymond and Hannah Vibbert. She married Larry R. Adams on March 24, 1968.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry; her daughters, Tammy Lorcher and Brenda (Marty) Brewer, both of Rupert, Michelle (Dean) Jones of Burley, and Debbie (Mike) Potter and Terri Papinau, both from Nebraska; her sons, David (Tracy) Bench of Heyburn and Raymond (Tina) Adams from California; her grandchildren, Misty, Zac, Rachael, Jeremy, Sara, Tiffani, Alan, Jaimee, Angie, Jason, Josh and Autumn; and her great-grandchildren, Myahhah, Mason, Jaylynn, Bailey, Tallon, Ahndrea, Kasey, Hannah, Thomas, Abbey, Logan and Gus. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Vibbert of Rupert; and her brothers, Jim Vibbert, Jerry (Kathy) Vibbert, Gordon Vibbert of Rupert and Tom (Carolyn) Vibbert of Caldwell; as well as extended family, too many to name and too ornery to count. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Hannah Vibbert; and sons, Gary and Alan Adams.

She loved to fish but wouldn't touch the worm to bait the hook and needed gloves or a rag to touch the fish, but she would bet her $3 on the first, biggest and the most fish. She also liked to hunt and camp. She crocheted her famous potholders, her beautiful afghans and made all her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews patch quilts. She worked for the J.R. Simplot Company for 18 years and helped her parents bale hay in the summer.

The family would like to give special thanks to daughters, Brenda and Michelle, for the constant care they have given her in the last few weeks and to her granddaughters, Rachael and Tiffani (both nurses), for the care and compassion they gave their grandma. They would also like to thank Idaho Home Health and Hospice.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Hansen Mortuary, 710 Sixth St. in Rupert. Burial will follow at the Rupert Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the mortuary.
