Lydia "Ann" Buban, 81, of Aliso Viejo, passed away June 4, 2012. She was born on April 10, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Cleo Holdaway Mackie and Albert V. Mackie. She attended the University of Utah and married George Buban in 1989 in the city of Long Beach, California. She was preceded in death by her parents;brother, Jim; sister, Murl and son Cary. She is survived by son Clark Showalter and wife Donna, one daughter Cristi Ann Milard and husband Bruce Shanahan and grand-daughters Hillary, Nicole, Amy, Mindy, Teisha and Dena. Ann was a force in the Salt Lake circles of the 1950's and 1960's and was a well known golfer in the area. She ran a restaurant in the Park City, Utah area for many years and enjoyed acting in local theatre and in Hollywood productions. She was an accomplished pianist, singer and dancer. She lived in the Palm Springs and Blythe areas for many years, enjoying hre pastimes of golf, fishing and gardening. For the last 10 years she enjoyed working in Aliso Viejo with her daughter Cristi Ann, a National Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She assisted Cristi Ann with her many meetings, seminars and other gatherings. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter to various locations, including Scotland and England. She also enjoyed participating in many family occasions. A Celebration of Life service will be held, Tuesday June 12, 2012, 1:00 pm at Fairhaven's Chapel, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, 949-380-8911. A reception will follow the service in Fairhaven's Reception Hall. Memorial Donations may be made to The Mary Kay Foundation, 877-MKCARES, marykayfoundation.org
