Notice from the Adrian Daily Times and Expositor, Tuesday, March 15, 1898, page 3:

-- Mrs. George Hines, of Battle Creek, died yesterday. The remains will arrive here to-morrow morning, and the funeral held from the home of George Karl, on Erie Street, at 2 o'clock standard time, in the afternoon. It is not known here what caused her death.

Her widower said that she died while carrying their first child, and her death certificate gives cause of death as eclampsia, although misspelled. She was buried in the Hines plot, which was owned by Carrie Hines, either her mother-in-law or her sister-in-law.
