Obituary in The Times and Democrat, Orangeburg, SC, 30 Apr 2012: Bamberg - Doris Lott Croft, 64, the wife of the late Billy F. Croft Sr., passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Herbert Thomas and the Rev. Doctor Wash Black Belangia. Burial will follow at South End Cemetery, Bamberg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 30, at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Mark Barnes II, Ernie Carroll Jr., Joey Croft Jr., Allen Fisk, Robbie Fisk, Dudd Hightower, Timmy Lott and Travis Stuart. Mrs. Croft was born December 5, 1947, in Bamberg County. She was the daughter of the late Frank Lott Jr. and Kathleen Kinsey Lott. Mrs. Croft was a homemaker and a member of Main Street Methodist Church in Bamberg. Mrs. Croft is survived by a son, Joey Croft Sr. and his wife Katie of Bamberg; a daughter, Lynn Carroll and her husband Ernie of Bamberg; brothers, Terry Lott (Helen) of Barnwell, Charles Lot Sr. of Bamberg; sisters, Sherry Knight (Vince) of Jedburg, Kathy Hightower (Sam) of Cope and Barbara Jean Pruitt of Bamberg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Barnes II of Bamberg; Ernie Carroll Jr. of Cottageville and Joey Croft Jr. of Bamberg; and her beloved pets, Ruby and Buster Carroll. She was predeceased by her son, Billy F. Croft Jr. and her twin brother, Dennis Lott. Memorials may be made to Main Street Methodist Church, PO Box 944, Bamberg, SC 29003.
