Author. A highly acclaimed Science Fiction writer, his many works include, "Stranger in a Strange Land," "Have Spacesuit Will Travel," and "Starship Troopers." By the time he entered Kansas City's Central High School in 1920, Heinlein had already read every book on astronomy in the Kansas City Public Library. A 1929 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Heinlein was invalidated out of the service in 1934 with tuberculosis, which caused him to take up writing after a brief political career. He served as a civilian engineer with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
