Noah Davenport, s. of Oliver Davenport and his 2nd wife Mary, b. per the Hyde Geneal. (1913, Vol. 2, p. 1060) on Aug. 11, 1758. Others claim he was b. on that date at Lebanon, Conn., which is not likely; he, his parents and siblings are listed in the vital records of Little Compton, Rhode Island albeit without birthdates. He d. Aug. 13, 1840 at Stamford, NY and is interred at the Stamford Cemetery.

On Sep. 23, 1784 at the Bozrah Cong. Chh. (at the time located within the Town of Norwich, Conn.), Noah m. Lydia Metcalf, dau. of Zebulon Metcalf and Lydia Bourne. She was b. Sept. 6, 1762 of record at Lebanon, Conn. and d. Mar. 21, 1852. Accordintg to the Hyde Geneal., they had nine children: Fanny, William, Lydia, Erastus, Ira, Henrietta Maria, Charles, Lucy and Pamelia.

Noah's mother Mary is claimed to have been nee Devol, the blood of that surname part of the blood of this memorialist. The memorialist would greatly appreciate any confirmation that the maiden name of Mary, the 2nd wife of Oliver Davenport of Little Compton, formerly part of Mass. but now part of Rhode Island, was in fact Devol (q.v. Deuel, Devel, etc.) and the identity of her parents.
