Jerry Lee Chapman, age 72, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at his home in Centerville. He was born the son of Archie and Aline N.(Large)Chapman on August 6, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa. He attended the Seymour Community Schools in Seymour, Iowa.

Jerry worked for many years as a farm hand and also worked at Heatilater in Centerville. He enjoyed watching the old western shows and spending time with his family. He had a nickname for all of his nephews and neieces, which was quite amusing.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandparents and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry is survived by: his brothers, Robert Chapman and his wife, Rebecca of Centerville, Iowa and Lyle Chapman of Centerville, Iowa; sisters, Dixie Davis of Centerville, Iowa, Judy Chapman-Garcia of Clifton, Texas and Barbara Armstrong and her husband, Willard of Centerville, Iowa; and numerous Nieces and nephews.

Funeral servics will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 1 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Cindy Finn officiating. Burial will follow in the Numa Cemetery near Numa, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 10 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
