Ida Schmalstieg Sanders died in a Sinton Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born in Rices Crossing, Williamson County, Texas, the youngest of six children, all of them preceded her in death. Her family was one of the pioneers who settled the Sodville Community. Shge was a lifelong active member of the First United Methodist Church in Sinton, Eastern Star, Pioneer Womens Club, and the Sinton Garden Club. She was the volunteer pianist at the Sodville Church in Sinton for over 30 years. Interment was in Taft Cemetery in Taft, Texas. Corpus Christi Caller-Times, September 1, 1993
