John Burton, a pioneer resident of Geneva, died at his home in Chicago, 154 Superior St., June 15, aged 73 years.
The family came from England to Illinois in 1830 settling at Little Rock in 1840. The family moved to Chicago and in the early 50's three brothers, Thomas, Benjamin and John, came to Geneva. John established a flour mill on the west side fo the river, and at one time owned all the west side land and water power now known as the Chas. Pope property. He owned what is known as the Wrate home on north First St., and the family left here for Chicago in 1899.

Gravesite Details
John Henry Burton purchased a double plot at Graceland Cemetery in 1865, where several relatives are buried. There are 4 empty spaces available to his heirs.
