Amos Phelps Bean was born 27 Nov 1806 in Glover, son of Samuel and Charlotte (Phelps) Bean. He died 15 Nov 1875 in Glover.
When he was a young man, he went to work in textile mills in Quebec. He returned Glover in 1834 to marry Phila Evans Sartwell.
When his father built a new house on the Bean farm, Amos and his family occupied the old homestead. He represented Glover three times in the Vermont Legislature, in 1843, 1859 and 1860.
