Virginia Catherine Schrader Hall was the daughter of Christopher C Schrader and Annie Fisher . The 1860 census gives her birthplace as Braxton County, Virginia. Virginia's father died at Camp Chase, the Federal Prison in Columbus, Ohio. In 1870 Virginia was living in Holly, Webster County with her widowed mother and her siblings.

Virginia was the second wife of Levi Morgan Hall, Sr. They were married sometime between the 1875 and 1878 following the death of his first wife, Cordelia Alkire.

Virginia was the mother of 13 children:
