Mona was a member of the Salation Army Home League where she made quilts and was a bell ringer for the holiday kettles, she also volunteered at St. Susan's Soup Kitchen. Regina had six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Surviving are three sons, Gerald R. Higley of Falconer; James H. Higley of Dunkirk; John W. Higley of Jamestown; three daughters, Nametta B. (William) Schroder of NC; Martha Y. Higley (fianc Troy Rosier) of Jamestown; Grace M. Rosier of Jamestown; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Edwin Barr of Jamestown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Higley whom she married August 24, 1953 and who died July 26, 1988; an infant sister, June Barr; and four brothers, Ernest, Clifford, Calvin, and Elton Barr.
