She graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin with a B.A. in music and the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in N.Y. with a M.A. She began her professional career in the music department of the Greenbrier College in Lewisburg, W.V.
She married John Arbogast of White Sulphur Springs and they had two sons Dan and John Kent.
She played the organ, piano and directed the choir at St Charles Borromeo Church for 49 1/2 years. She also had a beautiful contralto voice.
She was a pianist at the Greenbrier Hotel between 1960 to 1980 and served as organist for the horse shows at the West Virginia State Fair for 25 years.
