MY G-FATHER DIED WHEN I WAS 6 YEARS OLD.
HIS BROTHER, UNCLE GLOVER, BECAME OUR
SUBSTITUTE DAD AND GRAND-DAD. HE SAW AFTER MY
MAM~MA,WHO WAS LEFT WITH 10 LIVING CHILDREN,
AND MADE SURE SHE AND HER CHILDREN
HAD ALL THEY NEEDED. HE WAS A WONDERFUL
CHRISTIAN MAN, FULL OF LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY
AND FRIENDS. THANK YOU UNCLE GLOVER! I SHALL
SEE YOU AGAIN ONE DAY IN HEAVEN, AT THE
MAINORD FAMILY REUNION THAT WILL BE ETERNAL,
AND NONE OF US HAS TO SAY "GOOD-BYE, UNTIL

Glover F. Mainord, 91, Shawnee, Oklahoma
resident died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Rose
Manor Nursing Home in Shawnee. Glover had
lived in Seminole for over 61 years before
moving to Shawnee. Glover was born April 24,1921,
in Bryant, Oklahoma, to John Wesley and Celia
Ann (Hardin) Mainord.
Mr. Mainord was a longtime welder for Atlantic
Richfield in the Seminole Oilfields and he
retired in 1986 with British Petroleum. He was
a member of the Downtown Pentecostal Church in
Shawnee where he was very active.
Glover is survived by his wife of 70 years,
Katherine (Brown) Mainord of Shawnee, Oklahoma;
his son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Amybeth
Mainord of Shawnee, Oklahoma; a daughter
Givoanna MacHugh and Bill Ogletree of
Baytown, Texas.
He is also survived by his grandchildren;
Kelly (Mainord) and Hossein Ghara of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Amanda (Mainord) and Donald Reeves
of Monroe, Louisiana, Marshall and Leah MacHugh,
Lindsay and Anthony Mirrione of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma and by his great grandchildren,
Jordan Amirkhani of Canterbury, England,
Sophie Amirkhani of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Analeise
Reeves of Nashville, Tennessee, John Clay Reeves
of Monroe, Louisiana, Isabelle Strecker, Vincent
Mirrione and Holden MacHugh all of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma. His sister Wanda McPherren of Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma also survives him.
Glover was preceded in death by his parents, eight
sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday,
June 6, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel
in Seminole with burial at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens
in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rev. Fred Shipman and Rev. Ron Baldridge will officiate at the service.
Casketbearers will be: Robert Foxx,Terry Callendar,
Claire Hehnly, Charles Holbrook, Olen Thompson and
Kenneth Harbeston.
Honorary bearers will be: Bill Currens, John Inda,
Chuck Vrana, Willie Higgins, Pat Hathcock and
Joe Wallack.
The family will receive friends at a visitation
at 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening, June 5,
2012, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial donations may be sent in lieu of flowers to: Heartland Hospice, 2802 N. Kickapoo, Shawnee,
