He was a Free Will Baptist Minister having graduated from the Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville,Tennessee in 1954. Afterwards, he pastored the Beech Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Mississippi, the Glennville Free Will Baptist Church in Georgia, the Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church, Turbeville, and High Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Lake City, both in South Carolina. He was very active in the denomination on all levels and was a member of the Board of Retirement and Insurance for 12 years in Nashville, Tennessee.∼TURBEVILLE - Services for Rev. Wilburn Beasley, 84, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-9 tonight at the church. Floyd Funeral Home, Olanta, is in charge. Memorials may be made to Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church, Turbeville, SC 29162 to build a church in India in memory of the Rev. Beasley.

Beasely of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Mark Creech, Steve Creech, Jonathan McElveen, Josh McElveen, Scott Beasley, Jason Beasley and Verna Mollie Beasley; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Lynn Beasley and a granddaughter, Jennifer Beasley.
