Rev. Beasley died March 19, 2002 in a Manning hospital after an illness. Born in Marion County, Alabama, he was a son of the late William Isaac Beasley and Della West Beasley. He was a graduate of Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tenn. He was a Free Will Baptist Minister, having retired from Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church where he was a member.
Surviving are daughters, Betty (Rev. J.M.) Creech and Jan (Tracy) McElveen, both of Turbeville; son, James (Mary) Beasley of Turbeville; sisters, Fleda Uptain and Daisy Sullivan, both of Montgomery, Ala.; brother, I.J. Beasely of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Mark Creech, Steve Creech, Jonathan McElveen, Josh McElveen, Scott Beasley, Jason Beasley and Verna Mollie Beasley; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Lynn Beasley and a granddaughter, Jennifer Beasley.
